WOW! what an experience.. This past weekend (05.19.2007) I went to the Pirates of the Carribean 3 premiere at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. This normally isn't my cup of tea (not that i drink tea), but after some aggressive persuasion by some friends of mine, I was forced, err.. I was strongly urged (after all they are women, and have a way with words. :) ) to meet up with them to take some pictures of the stars as they stroll through the red carpet.
I arrived at Disneyland around 9:30am and i figured that was early enough and that i could easily find a good location to take pictures. Maan, was I wrong! Not really having prior experience with a premiere I was stunned to see the large amount of people just sitting and waiting for the premiere to begin. After I heard some of the stories of people waiting since midnight the prior night, or waiting since 2am, 3am and so forth, I very surprised, especially since the premiere or stars would not arrive until 6pm. That is a VERY long time to wait, but there were plenty of people who were willing to sit and wait.
here are some pictures taken throughout the day, enjoy!
A lady next to us eagerly awaiting to see Orlando Bloom.
Catching some shut-eye before all of the excitement.
This is where the premiere would take place.
Rather than waiting on the sidewalk while the sun blessed us with its rays, I decided to go on the Pirates ride, afterall it's a pirates life for me.. yaarrp..
Some shots in the dark. Very difficult trying to manual focus, while the boat jitters and shakes beneath you.
Look it's Captain Jack Sparrow..
Sweet! wenches for sale..
Out of the ten or so shots of this series, this was the only one that was clear.
After that little Pirates adventure, I really wasn't looking forward to sitting in a tight space back with my friends, so I decided to continue shooting around Disneyland. Here are some shots i took.
Goofy!!!
Minnie and Mickey
Bambi and Thumper
The entrace to the red carpet.
There were certainly alot of Asian media at this event, im not really sure who this was but saw the camera entourage and decided to take a picture.
Loving the colors on the Kimono (?).
Prom Queens I guess?
This a friend I met next to us, his name is Paul and he's from MO (that's Missouri to us CA folks!). He was a really nice guy and apparently very popular with the Asian media. Almost everyone was interviewing him. Even The Tonight Show interviewed. Oh, by the way, that will air on Thursday 05.24.2007, so you may see me briefly in the background acting like a dork! :)
Another pirate fanatic getting her makeup ready.
One of many entertainers at the event.

Geoffrey Rush (and the monkey)
Bill Nighy
Jerry Bruckheimer
Orlando Bloom (and YES ladies, he's even cuter in person, so im told)
and Johnny Depp himself
Im not really a star-struck kinda person so this was a different (in a good way) experience and I was a little excited once the stars started showing up but its really only top tier sports icons, Jessica Alba, certain comedic actors, Jessica Alba, Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, Jessica Alba and maybe Jessica Alba is where I would find myself getting excited and might be prone to muster up a girlish scream with their presence.
Overall it was a great day, but rather long. Im not really sure if I will attend another one of these, unless I was able to obtain a press pass so I can get better pictures.
Thank you for visiting!
